We're Expecting!!
I feel like we are within the 9-10 month time frame from traveling to Uganda...so just wanted to announce... we are expecting!! My sisters got me a necklace for my birthday that says "Expecting from Uganda". I love it! The first day I wore it I had several people ask me what it said. It was so fun to tell them we were adopting from Uganda! I don't have a growing belly, so it's nice to have something that shows we have a little one on the way!

CIS Fingerprints
We finally have completed the next step in our adoption! We had an appointment Monday in Cincinnati to get our fingerprints done for CIS approval. Our appointment was scheduled at 8:00 am so Andrew and I stayed in Cincinnati the night before. We went to a Reds game and ate at Montgomery Inn and Cheesecake Factory! So, we are now waiting again to receive CIS approval. Once we receive that we will send it to Lifeline and be put on the waiting list!

Home Study Complete!
On March 23 I turned in what I thought was the last piece of paperwork to complete our home study, only to find out that our criminal background checks from Alabama had not come in. Very disappointed, especially after panicking on getting everything together asap! Our social worker assured me I had not rushed around getting the last needed documents for nothing and they should be in any day. After all, we had mailed them in weeks ago and the processing time was only 2-4 weeks. So we waited. And waited. And waited. Finally Wednesday they arrived in our social workers hands...3 months longer than it should have taken! So our home study was mailed on Thursday morning and now we will begin waiting, yet again, for our approval from Immigration!

We are cleared by the FBI!
We got our FBI clearances in the mail today! We were told this could take up to 12 weeks and we got them back in 5 weeks and 1 day! I was hoping to have all of our other paperwork done by the time the clearances got back. That is not the case. We have a few more things we have to finish and then our Home Study will be complete!

We are adopting! We are well into our adoption process. We have filled out mounds of paperwork, been fingerprinted, had physicals, criminal background checks, ect... We get more excited every paper that we sign because it means we are just that much closer to bringing home our son! Thank you for following us on our journey to Uganda!
